Imperial H Hotel – Taipei (Zhongzheng)

Address:

In Taipei again, this time we choose to stay near the Taipei Main Station area. We usually like to stay at the Daan district but this around we choose the Zhongzheng area.

I stayed on Oct 31st to Nov 3rd. Their lobby is on the 11th floor. I stayed on the 7th Floor. My room was near the back of the back stairs.

Room – everything in the room are right. All amenities are there. Clean. Tea bag, Shower gel, Hair Dryer and Safe.

The only gripe I have is the Water Pump sound. When someone is using water, the floor on my room vibrate. The water pump sound is loud. I have requested to change room; they said I can only do it the next day. But the next morning, I decided not to change. I can accept the noise. Moreover, it’s a budget hotel.

The room is small. If you have two 28 inch bag, you might able to walk around. So, be aware on this.

NOTE: Standard room does not come with windows. NO Closet. It’s an open closet with 4 hangers.

Location – It’s has the best location. Right on top of Taipei Main Station, You can virtually go anywhere from this point. MRT or HSR. If you arrive via MRT, you need to walk through the K zone (Underground Mall) to reach the M and the Z zone. Once you are on the M or Z zone. You can choose to exit at M6 or choose an elevator in between Z2 and Z4 at the Underground Mall. If you take the elevator you will see the hotel logo the moment your elevator is on the main street.

Electrical jacks – Enough electrical jacks. Plus, the room comes with USB charging jacks, too. So, that was good.

Breakfast – NONE. They don’t offer breakfast. They provide 24hrs free coffee and bread on the 11th Floor. I saw a lot of guests bought Ramen from Family Mart on the ground floor and brought up.

Food – Plenty of food around this area. McDonalds is 2 minutes’ walk. Food courts are on the basement of next door mall. Starbucks is on the Underground mall. So…tons of food. No need hotel breakfast.

Bathroom – One thing good about this hotel is they provide washer for Muslim traveler and South East Asian. There is washer hose to wash after you have done your business. I have attached a photo.

Washing machine and Dryer – FREE. But they cut off electricity on the Washer and Dryer at 10pm. No IF or But. It’s auto shutoff. If your clothes is still washing, you need get like 6am to complete this task.

Overall, I can only give 2 stars because of the water pump sound. The plus are the location and variety of food nearby.

This is the only space for luggage. If you have 2 luggage, you practically can’t walk around.

This is the lounge area. Near the coffee and bread area. They should put more chairs and table. In the morning or night, it’s usually packed. No place to sit.

The best time to use the Washer and Dryer is around 6am to 12pm.  Once you hit 2pm or later, All the washer and dryer are occupied. There are no coin laundry nearby. The nearest is about 1.2 km away. No choice but to use theirs.

Simplylife Bakery Cafe

Simplylife Bakery Cafe

I have not been to this restaurant for awhile. Since I am doing Keto, I eat mostly at home.

Simplylife Bakery Cafe

But this Sunday, just feel like eating some restaurant food. This is what I ordered.

Simplylife Bakery Cafe

My wife ate this one. Food is pretty good but the table is a little too tight. Previously, they have square 4 person table but I think they want to maximize the seating place and to have customers leave as soon as they finish their food.

They don’t want customer to linger too long and occupy their table for more than one hour or so….that is my take.

It’s right at the coner of Junction Road and Tung Tau Tsuen Road.  If you look at my previous post on Kowloon Walled City, it’s on the same stretch of the road.

Miniature art of the old Kowloon Walled City.

Direction:

By MTR:

To Lok Fu, exit B. Walk toward Junction Rd. It’s a 15min walked to Tung Tau Tsuen road. Make a left. Cross the road. It’s on your right hand side.

By Bus:

Take the KMB no. 1 bus at Tsim Sha Tsui piers or along Nathan Road. Get off on Kowloon Walled City stop.

If you are visiting Hong Kong and using bus a transportation, download this KMB BUS app. It’s a real time app but be aware there is a plus/minus on the accuracy on the bus schedule.
