The Richfield 盈匯坊 at Kam Sheung Road Station

We made an unplanned stop here at Kam Sheung Road Station. This is the new cargo container shopping and dining place. Still new.

Exit B – on the right side there is a flea market. Walk toward the small bridge. Cross the bridge and you will see it your left hand side.

If you check on the Instragam, many tag this place because there is a pet grooming shop here.

There is one cafe here. That it. Not other type of restaurants. If they position more restaurant, it could be a very good weekend hangout.

During the cool weather, one can sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze.

My latte.

The toilet area. Very clean.

Christmas Lights – Harbour City

It’s that time of the year again. Its beginning to feel like Christmas. Harbour City at Tsim Sha Tsui.

If you are in Hong Kong, drop by to check out the Christmas Lights. Be prepared to encounter tons of people. Super crowded.

Mini Hotels (Taichung Station Branch)

minihoteltaichungstation

Our final stop in Taiwan. Stayed here on Nov 6th. This hotel is very near to the Taichung Rail Station. Probably about 5 minutes’ walk. Behind the hotel is a big mall called Taroko Mall. Plenty of food. McDonald and Starbucks is inside the mall. Plus, there is a Carrefour, too. The surrounding has plenty of restaurant if you are into local food.

Room – As they have stated, mini hotel. It’s really mini. It’s like a bunk bed style. The bed is on the upper deck, the table and the bathroom is below. You can only open a 24inch luggage and that it.

NOTE: the room does NOT have windows.

Electrical jacks – Plenty. Two jacks on the bed and about 4 on downstairs. No worry.

Watching TV – There is a TV but you need to sit sideways on the stairs to watch. We did not bother turning the TV. No point. Can’t watch it comfortably.

Bathroom – the toilet have the Japanese water dispenser. Good of Muslim and South East Asian traveler.

Closet – Open closet. They only provide 2 or 3 hangers.

Laundry – they have coin laundry machine and dryer.

Parking – the hotel does not have its own parking. You need to parking at public parking which is about 1 minutes walking distance.

Breakfast – Variety with bread, salad, porridge, scrambled, coffee, soya drink and some other fruits juice.

Overall, very pleasant stay at this hotel. No complaint. I slept well.

Harbor Resort Hotel Sun Moon Lake

Harbor Resort Hotel Sun Moon Lake

Clean, Convenient and with a view.

Stayed here on Nov 5th.  The hotel is inside the town area near the piers. Plus, there is a discount on the ticket for hotel guests. If you are not a hotel, you need to pay $376 Ntd but as hotel guest you only $100 Ntd each. Plus, everything within walking distance, restaurant and Starbucks is within 2 minutes walked.

Room – We booked a room with a view. Not the entire Sun Moon Lake but enough. All the amenities inside the room are there.

NOTE: even though my room was good condition but in sister room, she found three cockroaches run around. The hotel staff changes her room but she needs to pay $300Ntd extra because that room has a view.

Balcony – you can look over the lake and part of the town area. Quite nice.

Safe box – no safety box.

Bathroom – Bathroom is clean and comes with all the towels. Only thing is no shower curtain.

Wifi – they provide but I don’t use them.

Breakfast – they have wide variety from salad, bread, coffee to porridge. Mostly are Taiwanese. No scramble eggs or hash brown. I did take any photograph for the breakfast. Too busy eating.

Electrical jacks – enough electrical jacks for charging.

Closet – No closet. Open closet with 3 or 4 hangers.

Parking – the hotel does not have its own parking. We need to park at the public area. A lot parking space but it’s on the other side of road. Its about 200 to 250 meters away. The hotel will re-imburse the parking fee which is $100 ntd all day.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at this hotel. I slept well. No complaint.

Gao Shan Ching Hotel ALISHAN

Gao Shan Ching Hotel

Avoid Or Only At Last Resort

We stayed here on Nov 4th, 2018. The only positive about this hotel is it’s inside Alishan National Forest and accessible to the trains and eatery. It’s about 5 to 7 minutes’ walk to the nearest restaurant. We booked this place because like I said before, we thought of using public transportation but changes our mind. We rented a car at last minutes and drove here.

Room – I don’t mind the room being small but it was not well kept. The floor was dirty with hairs and other residue. I don’t think they ever vacuum the room. For a moment, I doubt they change the bed sheet. The towel has some smell on it.

Room Heater – Does not work. It was blowing cold air from the vent. We turned it off. The night temperature dips to around 9 Celsius at night. The only thing to make up for the cold room was the goose down blanket. It was super warm.

NOTE: No fridge. No safety box.

Bathroom – water leaking onto the floor when you flush the toilet. I did not make any complain because I was only there for one night. So, I sucked it up. Also, be aware. NO shower curtain. So, the entire bathroom will be wet.

Water Heater – they turn on the water heater from 6pm-8am. If you overslept, you will be showering in freezing cold water.

Wifi – they have but we did not use it. Can’t comment on the speed.

Breakfast – we have walked to another hotel for breakfast. Only 6 selections of stir fry vegetables, meat and mantou. There is coffee and hot soya milk.

Electrical jacks – only 4 available in my room.

Closet – open closet with 4 hangers provided.

Parking – plenty of spaces for parking. Once you have parked the car, you really don’t need to drive anywhere. Everything is within walking distance.

Overall, just not satisfied with the cleanliness of the room. If the room was clean, I probably would give it a 2.5 stars. The only advantage they have is everything was within walking distance. If you are driving up to Alishan, might as well look for Minsu. Otherwise, look for others hotel on the surrounding area.

Clean and Convenient

We stayed here on for one night on the Nov 3rd 2018. We booked this hotel because the map indicate close proximity to the Chiayi Train station. Initially, we thought of using the train to go up to Alishan (Fenchihu) but we change our mind. We rented a car from Taipei and drove here.

Room – Clean. Have a large windows because the room was facing the street. All amenities were there. Free 2 packet of coffee and tea, hairdryer, fridge, hotpot kettle and slippers. But no SAFE. The design of the room is dated but everything was very clean. I stayed on the 5th Floor. The room is bigger than those I have stayed at Imperial H.

NOTE: My room does have cigarettes smell but I am ok with it. I did not request for room change.

Location – If you want to go Alishan (Fenchihu) via train, this is the best location. Less than 5 minutes walk. About 10 minutes to Wenhua night market. 3 minutes walk to the nearest McDonalds.

Parking – plenty of parking spaces. It’s an outdoor parking that is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel. The parking lot need a card to go in. My suggestion is to stop the car at the front of the parking lot then have someone walk to the hotel to get a hotel parking card. Then park the car and walk to the hotel with the luggage. Otherwise, you need to drive a big round to park the car.

Electrical jack – It has about 4 or 5 electrical jacks. Should be enough.

Closet – No closet. Open closet with 2 or 3 hangers.

Wifi – They have but we don’t use them. I would not be able to comment on the speed.

Breakfast – the breakfast are Taiwanese which are vegetable, rice, porridge and mantou. Small selection of salad and bread. One thing I like is their hot soya milk. There is hot coffee.

Imperial H Hotel Taipei (Zhongzheng)

imperialHtaipei

Imperial H Hotel – Taipei (Zhongzheng)

Address:

In Taipei again, this time we choose to stay near the Taipei Main Station area. We usually like to stay at the Daan district but this around we choose the Zhongzheng area.

I stayed on Oct 31st to Nov 3rd. Their lobby is on the 11th floor. I stayed on the 7th Floor. My room was near the back of the back stairs.

Room – everything in the room are right. All amenities are there. Clean. Tea bag, Shower gel, Hair Dryer and Safe.

The only gripe I have is the Water Pump sound. When someone is using water, the floor on my room vibrate. The water pump sound is loud. I have requested to change room; they said I can only do it the next day. But the next morning, I decided not to change. I can accept the noise. Moreover, it’s a budget hotel.

The room is small. If you have two 28 inch bag, you might able to walk around. So, be aware on this.

NOTE: Standard room does not come with windows. NO Closet. It’s an open closet with 4 hangers.

Location – It’s has the best location. Right on top of Taipei Main Station, You can virtually go anywhere from this point. MRT or HSR. If you arrive via MRT, you need to walk through the K zone (Underground Mall) to reach the M and the Z zone. Once you are on the M or Z zone. You can choose to exit at M6 or choose an elevator in between Z2 and Z4 at the Underground Mall. If you take the elevator you will see the hotel logo the moment your elevator is on the main street.

Electrical jacks – Enough electrical jacks. Plus, the room comes with USB charging jacks, too. So, that was good.

Breakfast – NONE. They don’t offer breakfast. They provide 24hrs free coffee and bread on the 11th Floor. I saw a lot of guests bought Ramen from Family Mart on the ground floor and brought up.

Food – Plenty of food around this area. McDonalds is 2 minutes’ walk. Food courts are on the basement of next door mall. Starbucks is on the Underground mall. So…tons of food. No need hotel breakfast.

Bathroom – One thing good about this hotel is they provide washer for Muslim traveler and South East Asian. There is washer hose to wash after you have done your business. I have attached a photo.

Washing machine and Dryer – FREE. But they cut off electricity on the Washer and Dryer at 10pm. No IF or But. It’s auto shutoff. If your clothes is still washing, you need get like 6am to complete this task.

Overall, I can only give 2 stars because of the water pump sound. The plus are the location and variety of food nearby.

This is the only space for luggage. If you have 2 luggage, you practically can’t walk around.

The best time to use the Washer and Dryer is around 6am to 12pm.  Once you hit 2pm or later, All the washer and dryer are occupied. There are no coin laundry nearby. The nearest is about 1.2 km away. No choice but to use theirs.
